Bobwhites are easy to keep and raise. They are often one of the first species of quail for the beginning quail breeder and many long-time breeders keep them around for the male's call. The call is a very soothing and catchy sound.  The bobwhite is much smaller than its upland game associates, the ruffed grouse and wild turkey. Bobwhites are mottled gray, brown, black, and white in color. Males are easily distinguished from females by their pure white throat and eye bands. In the hen, these markings are buff colored. As in most birds, the hen is generally more modestly colored than the cock. The bobwhite quail is commonly referred to as the "King of native American game birds".  The bobwhite's rapid, erratic flight, together with its small size, make it a challenge for the upland gunner. It is regarded as one of the most delicious table game birds of all.

Hatching Eggs:

Hatching eggs are collected several times each day. Each egg is hand inspected for shape, size, color, and cracks. We ship eggs wrapped and protected from impact often experienced during shipment.

Please note:  Because of conditions beyond our control during shipment we are unable to guarantee the hatchability of any eggs. All of our eggs will ship fresh and
in good condition.

Mature Birds:

These quail average 6 to 12 weeks of age. They are not yet laying eggs but are ready to be placed in pens indoors or outdoors. Ordering mature quail relieves the stress caused death you would see in day old chicks. Mature birds are also past the pecking stage where there is a high mortality rate. Quail are carefully packed in adult approved shipping boxes with pieces of fruit to help ensure live arrival at their destination. Please contact us with your zip code for an estimate on shipping and box fee.

Breeding Trio's:

These trio's are proven breeders. One male with 2 female birds. Hens will be proven to have a high egg lay rate of fertile eggs. Please note however that after shipping quail it may take up to 4 weeks before the hens start laying again. Quail are carefully packed in adult approved shipping boxes with pieces of fruit to help ensure live arrival at their destination. Please contact us with your zip code for an estimate on shipping and box fee.
